Atlanta Based Coca Cola Will Offer Buyouts To 4,000 Employees
Coca-Cola says it will offer buyouts to reduce the number of involuntary layoffs.
ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta-based Coca-Cola announced Friday that the company will offer voluntary buyouts for thousands of employees.
They will first be offered to 4,000 employees in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada with a hire date on or before Sept. 1, 2017, reported WSB. This move is part of a major corporate restructuring.
The company said the number of people who take the buyout will reduce the number of involuntary layoffs, reported CNN. Coca-Cola said it will reduce the number of operating units from their current total of 17 businesses in four geographies to nine operating units in those regions.
