ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Braves said Tuesday that the name of the team's ballpark has changed from SunTrust Park to Truist Park.

The ball club made the announcement in a joint press conference with Truist Financial Corp.

The reveal comes close to a month after SunTrust Banks Inc. and BB&T Corp. signed off on a multimillion-dollar bank merger to create Truist. With SunTrust Banks no longer in existence, the Braves' ballpark also had to undergo a name change.

The now-named Truist Park is the youngest stadium in Major League Baseball, opening in 2017 after the organization played its final season in Turner Field the year prior.

The Braves signed a 25-year naming rights deal with SunTrust in 2017.

Here's the moment in which the new name was unveiled.

Many Atlanta fans were hoping that legendary player Hank Aaron would be part of the new stadium name. Although Truist did leave Aaron — the second all-time home run leader — out of the stadium's name, officials from the financial organization also announced they will refurbish baseball fields in the surrounding area and name them in honor of him.

The Atlanta Braves have one of the best young rosters in baseball and hope the new stadium name can bring a little added playoff luck.
