Atlanta Curfew Extended Through Saturday, Earlier On Weekend
The city of Atlanta has issued a nightly curfew for rest of week, with an earlier start for the weekend.
ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta residents will have a nightly curfew the remainder of the week, announced the city on Wednesday. The curfew goes into effect at 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday night.
On Friday and Saturday it will begin an hour earlier at 8 p.m.
The first curfew was ordered last Saturday by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms after peaceful protests turned into a violent riot Friday night, injuring officers, damaging patrol vehicles and more.

Gov. Brian Kemp tweeted Wednesday that he has the Georgia National Guardsmen ready to support the city of Atlanta.
"@GeorgiaGuard troops stand ready to continue providing support in Atlanta tonight and ensure peaceful protests and compliance with the city’s 9 PM curfew," he wrote.
