Atlanta Falcons To Sign Former Commanders QB Taylor Heinicke: Reports
Taylor Heinicke has agreed to terms to sign a $14 million contract with the Falcons, media reports say.

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA — Taylor Heinicke, a Lawrenceville native and former Washington Commanders quarterback, is coming home to Georgia.
Heinicke has agreed to terms and is slated to sign a two-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons, the NFL Network reported Tuesday. The announcement comes one day before Heinicke's 30th birthday Wednesday.
He is set to work alongside quarterback Desmond Ridder, who started the last four games of the Falcons' 2022 season, according to the team.

Per A to Z Sports, by way of Sports Illustrated, Heinicke will sign a $14 million deal with a $4 million signing bonus, $6.32 million total guarantee, a $1 million roster bonus this year, a $1.32 million signing bonus in 2024 and up to $6 million total in incentives.
The announcement comes two weeks after the Falcons decided to release former quarterback Marcus Mariota, citing financial savings as the reason for his release.

According to the Falcons, Heinicke attended Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, minutes away from the Falcons facility in Flowery Branch.
