Atlanta Mayor Is Against Trump Deploying Federal Agents: Letter

Mayor Bottoms signed a letter, joining other city leaders, to take a stance against Trump's deployment of federal agents amid protests.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has added her signature to a letter with other city leaders that calls on President Donald Trump to not deploy federal agents to different cities to help control protests.

The letter is addressed to U.S. Attorney General William Barr and acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The mayors of Kansas City, Boston, Philadelphia, Denver, Washington D.C.,Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, Oakland, San Jose, Tucson and Portland signed the letter.

Last week, Trump sent at least 100 border patrol agents to Portland to make arrests, reported The New York Times.

“Donald Trump and his minions are the architects of chaos,” Bottoms told MSNBC’s Joy Reid on Monday.
