Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issued the following statement following the passage of an ordinance which bans “party houses”—rental homes in neighborhoods used as makeshift nightclubs for a night or weekend—in residential districts, instead confining the use of rental spaces for such events to commercial districts which are not near homes.

“Thank you to those who worked with the City’s Department of Planning to end the disruptions in our neighborhoods caused by gatherings at ‘party houses,’” said Mayor Bottoms. “From Ben Hill to Tuxedo Park, we take great pride in our communities, and our Administration will continue to use all tools available to improve the quality of life for our residents.”
