SDPPP is committed to its mission to providing awareness about mental illness, suicide prevention, and bullying. The organization is hosting three fundraisers in order to carry out its plan to reduce stigma, stop suicide, and bullying which often results around the lack of understanding and sensitivity, when it comes to mental illness. In 2019, SDPPP plans an international mental health tour that will take lead in its series of fundraisers, with emphasis on the demand for mental health education and awareness to change the way society views mental health related concerns. Upcoming fundraisers include a mental health and suicide prevention tour, a fashion show, and a Self-Discovery WALK in 2020.

“Self-Discovery in the area of mental health is a daily Journey that requires people speaking up, stopping the stigma and not giving up hope that we can stop the growing epidemic of suicide,” says Venessa D. Abram, executive director of Self-Discovery Pain, Positioning, & Purpose, Inc. “Our goal is to bring critical awareness to communities everywhere and to gain support in this important national movement. We encourage people to donate to our organization today to help us with the important work of stopping the stigma, bullying and increased numbers of suicides nationwide, through increasing mental health awareness in our communities at large,” she said.
