Preliminary Information: On 4/16/21, around 11:13 pm, officers responded to an auto accident at the location of Interstate 285 North and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle wedged underneath a tractor trailer that was fully engulfed in flames. Atlanta Fire Rescue also responded on scene to assist with putting out the vehicle fire. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the vehicle attempted to exit the interstate onto Donald Lee Hollowel Parkway then tried to re-enter the highway. The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and crashed underneath a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer dragged the vehicle for several yards before coming to a final rest. At this time, it is undetermined if there are any fatalities or how many passengers were inside the vehicle due to it being severely burned. The APD Accident Investigations Unit has opened an investigation that remains ongoing at this time.
