Atlanta Police: Don't Fall Victim To Phone Scam
If you get one of these calls, take note of the number, hang up and call the police.

ATLANTA, GA — Atlanta police are warning citizens of the resurgence of a phone scam, and not to fall for it. The police department posted on Facebook on Tuesday with the warning.
"Scam artists are at it again," the post said. "They use telephone numbers that look official."
These scammers might tell their victim that they have a warrant and are collecting fines "or else," police said. The scammers will request personal information and money.

"Folks, no one from the real Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is going to call you and ask for your personal information and/or cash," Atlanta police said.
If you receive one of these calls, or any call that you believe to be a scam, take note of the number, hang up and call the police. Police noted that real deputies looking for fugitives "don't pick up the phone or do FaceTime or Skype. They roll out."
