Atlanta Police Supervisor Charged With Aggravated Assault
An off-duty Atlanta police officer is accused of attacking another officer and attempting to run them over with her vehicle.

ATLANTA, GA — An Atlanta police officer has been relieved of her duties Tuesday after being accused of attacking another officer and attempting to run them over with her vehicle. She’s charged with obstruction, aggravated assault and violation of oath by a public officer.
According to investigators, the officer will step down until the case can be adjudicated.
WSB reports that the off-duty officer was helping control traffic at the Wells Fargo bank along Camp Creek Parkway when police say that Lt. Sharonne Steed refused to follow the officer’s directions.

“Lt. Steed continued to defy the officer's orders and ultimately bumped her vehicle into him,” Atlanta police said in a news release.
The off-duty officer attempted to get Steed out of the car, but she resisted and ended up biting the officer’s hand, police said.

Steed identified herself as an Atlanta police officer during the incident, according to investigators. That’s when APD supervisors were sent to the bank to investigate.
Several warrants against Steed were put out after the investigation. She turned herself into the Fulton County Jail on Tuesday.
Since 1997, Steed has been a supervisor for the department's Airport precinct.
