Atlanta Strippers Used In 'Get Your Booty to the Polls' PSA

Local filmmakers have created a PSA with strippers to encourage Black voters to participate in the 2020 Presidential Election.

ATLANTA, GA — Election day is quickly approaching and there’s been an ongoing call for more people to register to vote, especially Black voters. In Atlanta, a group of strippers are encouraging Black voters to participate in the 2020 Presidential Election.

Filmmakers Angela Gomes (director) and Paul Fox (producer) have used exotic dancers in the PSA, “Get Your Booty to the Poll.”

“So you’re really not going to vote? You know there’s more than just a president on a ballot, right? A district attorney decides who to prosecute, including whether or not to go after dirty cops. You know who elects the DA? We do,” the women say.

“If your vote didn’t matter there wouldn’t be so many people trying to discourage you from casting it,” reads a message on the “Get Your Booty to the Poll" website. “We have the power to create the change we want to see, and we can do that by voting for people who we trust to prioritize our interests and concerns. Go vote.”

During Georgia’s June primary, several issues were reported such as long wait times and broken machines.
