Georgia Tornado Threat: National Weather Service

Wednesday will see some severe storms as well as possible tornadoes, says the Weather Service. The rest of the week will bring lots of rain.

ATLANTA, GA — The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for northern and central Georgia. The outlook includes a tornado threat, so take care. The NWS said an isolated severe storm with possible strong winds and isolated tornadoes are the main threats.

The outlook also warns of potential localized flooding, as the storm may dump up to two inches of rain on Atlanta. Counties included in the hazardous outlook are: Barrow, Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Fulton, Oconee, and Paulding.

Through the rest of the week, we can expect lots of rain. Total rainfall could reach up to four inches, the National Weather Service said, and there may be more flooding throughout the week due to that.
