Atlanta Transgender Actor Debuts Wednesday on "Modern Family"
Tonight's episode introduces 8-year-old Jackson Millarker as a new friend for Lilly.

An 8-year-old Atlantan will debut on Wednesday night's "Modern Family" as the cast's first openly transgender child actor.
Jackson Millarker appears as Tom, a new friend for Lily, played by Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, reports Mashable. In the episode, titled "A Stereotypical Day," Lily invites Tom over for a playdate. After a misunderstanding, Lily's parents, who are proud of themselves for raising a loving and accepting child, mistakenly thinks that Lily may not be as open-minded as they thought.
Millarker is one of the first openly transgender child actors to appear on TV. Jazz Jennings, 15, has her own TLC series called "I am Jazz," while Elliot Fletcher is featured in MTV's "Faking It."
