Atlanta Weather Thursday: Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms

ATLANTA, GA — Showers and isolated thunderstorms are in the Atlanta weather forecast, beginning Thursday afternoon.

The storm system should be week enough to avoid severe storms, according to the National Weather Service.

Clouds will roll in after noon and rain should begin before the Thursday afternoon commute, according to The Weather Channel.

Snow may be threatening the Mid-Atlantic Thursday night, but Atlanta can expect spring-like weather by mid mid-week, with a string of days in the 70s.

Thursday: Showers, mainly after 3pm. High near 56. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday Night: Showers, mainly before 9pm. Low around 41. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 56. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
