Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell Joins The Bert Show As Co-Host

Morning Radio Show Talks with Singer-Songwriter in Studio All Morning

On Tuesday, May 22nd, The Bert Show hosts were joined by singer-songwriter Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys as an official co-host for the entire morning. Littrell joined his friends, host Bert Weiss and co-hosts Kristin Klingshirn, Davi Crimmins and Moe Mitchell. He shared exclusive details on the band’s new single, 25 years in music, upcoming tour and much more. Littrell was fully integrated into the show, participating in all of the regular Bert Show segments including speaking with callers, playing the Blah Blah Game, pleading the fifth and chiming in for the E-Buzz.

Littrell opened up about his personal life, sharing how he met his wife, how the band handled substance abuse with one member and more never heard stories about the Backstreet Boys’ biggest hits.

He revealed a shocking secret about their hit, “Quit Playing Games with My Heart.” “Does anyone know that AJ (McLean) is not on that record?” Littrell shared for the first time ever, “It was only Kevin and I recording the whole song. They spliced in Nick (Carter) after we cut the video and the label wanted Nick on the track.” He revealed, “A lot of that I’ve never shared before.”

Littrell also spoke of the band’s recent come back “It still blows my mind, after 25 years the fans are embracing us, radio has embraced us.” He went on to speak on the new single, “Being a Backstreet Boy in 2018, with a successful single, that’s the best compliment you could give us. We wanted it to sound like today, but still sound like the Backstreet Boys.”

While taking part in the Plead the Fifth segment, Littrell tells all about the biggest fight he ever got into with another member of the band resulting in him putting his fist through drywall as well as the rivalry with NSYNC. Check it out here.

After three hours on the show, Littrell's morning wouldn’t be complete with out taking part in the Contraction Contraption trivia game which simulates labor pains. Also, knowing how much nonprofit Bert’s Big Adventure means to Weiss and the entire show, Littrell generously donated two items to be auctioned off to benefit the nonprofit. These items include an 8x12 "In A World Like This" group picture signed by every member of the band and from Littrell's personal collection, a signed commemorative plaque celebrating 4,000,000+ European Sales of "Backstreet's Back.”
