Become A Fulton County Sheriff Junior Deputy

Kids age 11 to 16 are eligible for the program, which requires a teacher or school administrator recommendation and more.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is hosting the 2018 Junior Deputy Program, a five-day course giving the county's kids a taste of sheriff's deputy training and law enforcement. The deadline for application is May 7, and the course costs $50.

Candidates must be 11 to 16 years old, the Fulton Sheriff website says, and must live in Fulton, attend school in Fulton or be related to a Fulton County employee.

The program is meant to give kids a better understanding of law enforcement and the justice system and to reach out to kids at an impressionable age to build their character, leadership skills, citizenship, physical and mental fitness.
