BeltLine Southside Trail Celebrates Groundbreaking
A groundbreaking celebration for the BeltLine Southside Trail-West took place Wednesday in Atlanta.
ATLANTA, GA — A groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate phase one of construction for the BeltLine’s Southside Trail - West took place Wednesday, reports WSB. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and BeltLine officials were in attendance.
Southside Trail-West is a 0.75-mile portion of the overall four-mile southside corridor.

The Eastside Trail celebrated a ribbon cutting event in July 2019.
The Atlanta BeltLine will ultimately connect 45 intown neighborhoods via a 22-mile loop of multi-use trails, modern streetcar, and parks, all based on railroad corridors that formerly encircled Atlanta.

The Atlanta BeltLine also supports affordable workforce housing, economic development, job creation, public health, streetscapes, public art, environmental clean-up, and historic preservation, all with an eye towards sustainability. Two organizations – Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. and The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership – work together with partner organizations to bring the program to life.
