The Bert Show Puts a Twist on 4th Annual "Live Like a Woman" Week

Q99.7's Morning Radio Show Cast Experience What It's Like to Live Like a Pregnant Woman

The Bert Show closed out the month of October by putting a special twist on their fourth annual “Live Like a Woman Week”. In honor of Cassie Young, The Bert Show’s web and social media director, being nine months pregnant, host Bert Weiss and co-host Moe Mitchell were put through a series of activities for five days that any expecting mother would go through. Bert Show members strategically coordinated tasks and challenges for each day in an effort to help the men of the show empathize with every stage of pregnancy.

“This is our fourth year doing ‘Live Like a Woman Week’, but this year was on an entirely different level,”says Kristin Klingshirn, co-host of The Bert Show. “The guys definitely struggled and I think they both waddled away with a better appreciation of what pregnant women go through.”

Bert and Moe experienced a full week living a day in the life of a pregnant woman including the dietary restrictions, with each day bringing challenges that come with every trimester of pregnancy. The pair started the week by performing tasks that simulated first trimester pregnancy symptoms including tender nipples, swollen boobs and morning sickness. The Bert Show men also experienced symptoms such as swollen feet and weight gain by wearing ankle weights and clothes that were too tight, as well as struggled through having to use the bathroom every 30 minutes, wearing tight compression stockings and a pregnancy empathy belly for an entire day, even while working out and sleeping.

The experience wouldn’t be complete without Bert and Moe’s “water breaking” and them being hooked up to the contraction contraption which simulates labor pains for the duration of the show.
