Biden Welcomes Atlanta Braves to White House

President Joe Biden called the Atlanta Braves the "upset kings of October."

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Atlanta Braves made a special trip to the White House Monday to celebrate the team's 2021 World Series championship win.

The Braves defeated the Houston Astros 7-0 in Game 6 for the victory. CNN reported it was the team's first title since 1995.

President Joe Biden noted in a tweet Monday the World Series win was "one of history's greatest turnarounds," adding the championship "didn't come easy."

"But I know in Georgia, you show up when it counts. They kept the faith. Congrats, fellas," Biden tweeted.

According to the Associated Press, Biden said the Braves will be “forever known as the upset kings of October.”
