Georgia Youth of the Year Accepted Into Oglethorpe University

Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta's Youth of the Year shares her post-graduation plans!

In the spirit of graduation season, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta is thrilled to announce some exciting news about our Youth of the Year - Kimberly Heard! Our leading teen ambassador has accepted a full tuition scholarship to attend Oglethorpe University this fall. Congratulations, Kimberly!

After finishing out her senior year with a 4.1 grade point average, Kimberly plans to study aerospace engineering. We couldn’t be prouder of Kimberly for her hard work and resilience. Her latest achievement comes on the heels of advancing her title to Georgia Youth of the Year – the highest award a Boys & Girls Club teen can receive for demonstrating outstanding leadership in their Club, community, and school.

Despite the challenges many families are facing with social distancing, virtual homeschool, and economic setbacks, our kids and teens continue to persevere toward achieving the Great Futures they deserve. Kimberly is a shining example of how a combination of compassion and tenacity can put you on the road to success.
