'Blanket Atlanta With Love' Drive Collects Coats For Homeless
The annual event provides coats, clothing and blankets to those in need as winter approaches.

ATLANTA, GA -- Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. is joining forces with the county's Department of Housing & Community Development to sponsor an initiative to collect winter coats, clothes and blankets to help those who are in need during the holiday season.
As part of the “Blanket Atlanta with Love” initiative, bins will be placed around Fulton County to gather blankets, coats, ponchos, and other cold weather clothing for those in need from Nov. 7 through Nov. 18.
The drive will culminate with the distribution of the new and gently used goods from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Fulton County Government Center courtyard, which is at the corner of Mitchell and Peachtree streets in downtown Atlanta.

“While there are entities that offer more sustainable initiatives and programs, we want to do our part in reaching out to Atlanta’s invisible citizens, those in need,” Arrington said. “To whom much is given, much is required.”
Collection bins will be placed at the following locations in Fulton County:
