Braves' Hector Olivera Arrested On Domestic Dispute
The team says they are "disappointed" and "troubled" by the allegations.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Hector Olivera has been arrested in Virginia for an alleged domestic dispute.
According to Arlington County Police spokesperson Ashley Savage, Olivera, 31, was arrested at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City at 6:51 a.m. this morning on charges of assaulting a woman he knew. The woman had visible bruising and was taken to Virginia Hospital Center.
The Braves are in the middle of a four-game road series against the Washington Nationals.

In a statement released to the media, the Braves said, “We are extremely disappointed and troubled to learn of the allegations involving Hector Olivera. We will continue to gather information and will address this matter appropriately as we determine the facts.”
Olivera is a major piece of the Braves' rebuilding efforts. He was acquired in a 2015 trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers after defecting from Cuba. The Braves like Olivera's power, though he has only been hitting .211 since the season began. He was originally signed to play first base, but has been moved to left field.
