Bright Futures Atlanta Opening New Grove Park Youth Center

ATLANTA (Aug. 28, 2019) – Bright Futures Atlanta (BFA), a for-impact organization and fully accredited academy for middle and high school students founded in 2002, located in the Grove Park neighborhood at 748 Gary Road NW, is opening its new 9,240-square-foot Youth Center on September 4 for after-school and summer camp fun. The new Youth Center will serve as an extension of Bright Futures Academy to its students, and youth in the Grove Park and Northwest Atlanta area through an application process.

The Youth Center will include classrooms, a commercial kitchen, an expansive outdoor space, music center, art studio and a multi-purpose auditorium that will be used for extracurricular activities and summer camps.

Mirroring that of BFA, the Youth Center’s goal will be to provide real-life direction with a strong Christian faith, which BFA believes is vital in establishing youths’ moral foundation, creating positive self-worth and fostering an appreciation for helping others.

“We are overjoyed at the thought of these students having a safe and highly engaging place to spend their afternoons and evenings and get off the streets,” said Philip Ross, BFA executive director and co-founder.

Millard Choate and the CBF Foundation acquired the facility for BFA, who then completely renovated it, including new plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, and exterior landscaping.

“For me, there is no greater mission or return on investment than offering the opportunity to young people to substantially change their lives for the better,” said Millard Choate, Choate Construction president and CEO, and member of the BFA board of directors.

In addition to CBF Foundation, Youth Center donors include Choate Construction, SunTrust Foundation, Chick-Fil-A, Brasfield & Gorrie, EY, Peachtree Orthopedics, Packard Capital, Citizens of Georgia Power, Jackson Healthcare Charities, The Imlay Foundation, Tull Charitable Foundation, and Denyse Signs. Ross said he and his wife Gail, BFA co-founder, appreciate all of the donors who helped build and design the new Youth Center.

“This new space is guaranteed to help us continue BFA’s growth in northwest Atlanta and allow additional programs for students over the next 10 years,” Ross said.
