Woodruff Arts Center

Woodruff Arts Center has opened its doors to showcase a vibrant new exhibit from InCommunity in the second-floor lobby of the Goizueta Stage for Youth &amp; Families. This inspiring collection highlights the creativity and talent of artists from InCommunity’s day programs which invites visitors to experience bold colors, powerful stories, and truly limitless expression. 
InCommunity is a nonprofitbased in Atlanta that provides meaningful, community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can live safe, healthy, and joyful lives. 
Titled “Limitless”—in tandem with InCommunity’s upcoming Limitless Gala on May 16—the exhibit features 21 curated pieces created by artists from InCommunity’s Art &amp; Food day program in Marietta and Unlimited Possibilities Center in Roswell. The artwork debuted during the Woodruff Arts Center’s ribbon-cutting celebration and was enjoyed by donors and staff.
With guidance from art teachers, the collection was thoughtfully selected based on color palette, subject matter, and artistic quality. The exhibit also includes artist profiles highlighting each contributor’s background and creative inspiration.
The “Limitless” exhibit will remain on display through the end of May.

After a standout debut in April, the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.gpconservancy.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Grant Park Conservancy</a>&nbsp;is bringing Market in the Park back to Boulevard Green adjacent to Grant Park Gateway on Sunday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The second installment of the new monthly series arrives just in time for Grant Park’s 143rd birthday, bringing another full day of free local shopping, food, live music, and family-friendly programming to the neighborhood. Before the afternoon unfolds, the celebration hits a high note at 11 a.m. In honor of Grant Park’s 143rd birthday, the Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Chorus will join live band Bolo Boys for a community sing-along of “Happy Birthday” to the park, adding a lively, feel-good moment to the day's festivities. The inaugural market, held over Earth Day weekend, welcomed a steady flow of neighbors, families, and visitors who spent the day shopping local, enjoying chef-driven bites, and taking in programming across the park. The May event builds on that turnout with an expanded lineup of returning favorites and new additions, while continuing to showcase Boulevard Green as a go-to gathering spot and a key part of the Gateway entrance. May’s food lineup includes a notable first for Atlanta-based&nbsp;<a href="https://www.bigsoftieatl.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Big Softie</a>, which will make its first-ever appearance at an event outside of its brick-and-mortar locations, serving up its specialty ice cream sandwiches. From some of the smallest frogs to the most endangered lizards, join the Herpetology Care Team and immerse yourself in the science behind caring for reptiles and amphibians behind-the-scenes at Scaly Slimy Spectacular!
Learn firsthand the level of care that is required to care for these unique and important species. Participants can expect to meet members of the Animal Care Team, meet an animal, learn about our positive reinforcement training and enrichment programs, and walk away with knowledge of how to save species. All participation in Keeper for a Day programs is voluntary for the animals. If you love these scaly and slimy creatures, this program is just for you! 
Before registering, please understand that during this program:

 <li>Participants will perform similar tasks as members of the Herpetology Care Team, which may include raking, sweeping, hosing, scrubbing, and shoveling, and should expect to do some hard work and be comfortable getting dirty. </li>
 <li>Participants will be expected to participate in all weather conditions, lift up to 30 pounds, and be on their feet for up to four hours. </li>
 <li>Participants must have the physical ability to bend, lift, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. </li>
 <li>Participants may be exposed to potential allergens such as insects, hay, animal waste, and other potential allergens. Please reach out in advance if you have any questions or concerns. </li>
