Dive into Kwesi and Nana Ruby Learn to Swim by Kobina Commeh, illustrated by Bárbara Quintino, a story about overcoming fear and embracing cultural heritage. Visit Mami Wata, the West African water spirit, in the African Art gallery, then create water-themed art using different watercolor techniques in the studio. Participants will explore their own experiences and emotions related to water and courage.
For children ages 3-6 with an accompanying adult. Space is limited, and registration is required. The cost of the program includes all artmaking materials and admission to the museum.
Fee: $8 per person for members and $12 per person for nonmembers.
