Fresh off its biggest refresh since opening in 2010, The Big Ketch Saltwater Grill is giving Atlantans another reason to dive into its expanded seafood menu this National Oyster Day. The restaurant’s new raw bar and charbroiled oysters take center stage with $2 raw oysters ($24 per dozen) all day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 and charbroiled oysters topped with herb butter, Parmesan and seasoned breadcrumbs for $2.50 each or $19 for a half dozen. Pair them with a bottle of Calafuria Rosé or Flora Prosecco for $40 and settle into Buckhead’s beach house for an afternoon that feels a world away from the city. Trainer for a Day: World of Wild Theater
Imagine running a show when all of your stars are birds!
Become a Trainer for a Day at the World of Wild Theater presented by Georgia Natural Gas, and see firsthand how training is used to care for and connect guests to the birds while participating in the Fantastic Flights presentation!
Work alongside the Ambassador Animals Team to experience how these feathered friends showcase their unique adaptations in these presentations and learn about the positive reinforcement training that ensures that all of the birds are participating voluntarily. This behind-the-scenes look at Fantastic Flights and its amazing participants will give you a greater appreciation for the term “bird brain” and the important relationships between the birds and their care team. Participants can expect to meet members of the Animal Care Team, meet an animal, learn about our positive reinforcement training and enrichment programs, and walk away with knowledge of how to save species. All participation in Keeper for a Day programs is voluntary for the animals.
Before registering, please understand that during this program: 
<ul>
 <li>Participants will perform similar tasks as members of the Ambassador Animals Team, which may include raking, sweeping, hosing, scrubbing, and shoveling, and should expect to do some hard work and be comfortable getting dirty. </li>
 <li>Participants will be expected to participate in all weather conditions, lift up to 30 pounds, and be on their feet for up to four hours. </li>
 <li>Participants must have the physical ability to bend, lift, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time. </li>
 <li>Participants may be exposed to potential allergens such as insects, hay, animal waste, and other potential allergens. Please reach out in advance if you have any questions or concerns.</li>

National Oyster Day is the perfect excuse to settle into the patio, order a round of freshly shucked oysters and embrace the "Rosé All Day" lifestyle at The Hampton Social at High Street. A special for National Oyster Day, seafood lovers who dine in on Wednesday August 5 can celebrate with $1 oysters all day with any drink purchase with a minimum 6, maximum 12 oysters per order. Available for lunch and dinner beyond just the holiday, guests can enjoy East and West Coast oysters, pair them with a signature Oyster Shooter or share the Raw Bar Trio featuring a half dozen oysters, tuna tartare and crab and avocado. Happy Hour, offered Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., includes fresh oysters for $1.50 each, making it an ideal midweek stop before or after work. Keeper for a Day: Elephants 

Join the team at the Zambezi Elephant Center and immerse yourself in what it takes to care for the largest land animals on the planet!
Spend the morning working alongside the Elephant Care Team to prepare the habitat for the day and ensure the elephants’ needs are met.
This unique experience is sure to educate and inspire you about these special individuals, help you learn more about the rigorous requirements of professional elephant care, and gain an understanding of the ways Zoo Atlanta is working to protect wild populations. As part of its whimsical Under the Sea experience, the beloved Inman Park restaurant will host a <a href="https://www.amoreeamore.com/reservations" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">one-night-only Ruffino Wine Dinner</a> on Thursday, August 6, at 7 p.m., pairing celebrated Italian wines with a thoughtfully curated five-course menu that highlights some of the restaurant's most beloved dishes. Throughout the evening, Caterina Velez, <a href="https://www.ruffino.it/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Ruffino Ambassador</a> for the U.S., will guide guests through each pairing, sharing the history, regions and winemaking traditions behind every selection. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Ruffino Prosecco DOC before beginning the first course, featuring a farm-to-table arugula salad alongside artisanal Italian cheeses, cured meats, house-marinated olives and homemade pesto, paired with Ruffino Orvieto Classico DOC. The evening continues with Amore e Amore's signature Pappardelle Sinatra, served with Sante Dame Chianti Classico DOCG, followed by a refreshing homemade lemon sorbetto paired with Mi Campo Blanco as an intermezzo between courses. For the entrée, guests will choose between Black Angus Filet Mignon with Vecchia Romagna Brandy or Classic Chicken Piccata, both paired with Riserva Ducale Oro Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG. The evening concludes with a curated assortment of homemade desserts served alongside Modus Primo Toscana IGT, creating a memorable finish to the experience.
