One Tuesday each month from June through August, meet us in the courtyard for an open play experience featuring mahjong, sips, and bites from some of our on-property restaurants.
Intermediate and advanced players are invited to settle in for open play in our outdoor courtyard, enjoy cocktails, conversation, and a relaxed summer evening atmosphere.

Dance Canvas welcomes choreographers to apply for our signature program, the 2026-27 Choreographer Career Development Initiative. This season, we are continuing to ask choreographers to create work with innovation at the heart of it! We are seeking proposals to respond to the prompt: NOW! "What feels relevant, urgent, immediate, or impossible to ignore right now?"

Dance Canvas will select up to 10 choreographers to be part of the Choreographer Career Development Initiative. All selected Dance Canvas Choreographers will create, incubate, receive feedback and present their choreography to Atlanta Audiences. Our choreographers will also be invited to workshops, roundtable discussions, and seminars to develop their careers and build professional networks. The 2026-27 CCDI will culminate in a Performance Series at the Rialto Center for the Arts in Atlanta, GA on March 19th &amp; 20th 2027!

Dance Canvas Choreographer Career Development Initiative

Dance Canvas: on Film is an initiative to support dance and film artists interested in creating and producing dance films. With a similar structure as our Choreographer Career Development Initiative, we annually select up to 3 choreographers/Filmmakers for the program. Artists will be provided with production resources, access to dancers, access to rehearsal space, and promotion/marketing. Additionally, Choreographers will take workshops from industry experts in Editing, Concept design/storyboarding, Movement for camera, Producing and Distribution, and Lighting (*Note: Workshop descriptions are subject to change based on the selected artists).

This program is open to both choreographers seeking to develop skills in filmmaking, as well as filmmakers looking to work in partnership with movement artists.
