Cam Newton Brawl: No Charges Filed In Dispute At ATL Sports Tournament
Video of a physical dispute involving NFL quarterback Cam Newton at a flag football tournament has gone viral on social media.
ATLANTA, GA — Video of NFL quarterback Cam Newton engaging in a brawl at a flag football tournament in Atlanta has gone viral on social media, and police say criminal charges will not be pressed.
Atlanta Police said Wednesday they responded Sunday to the We Ball Sports flag football tournament in the 1100 block of Northwest Drive.
USA Today reported the event was a 7-on-7 youth football tournament. Per the outlet, it seems badgering triggered a physical altercation between Newton and others.

Police did not say what caused the dispute, but said officers immediately intervened to stop the scuffle. Then, several people involved in the fight fled from the scene, police said.
"It was later discovered that among the involved persons were NFL quarterback Cam Newton and his flag football teammates," police said in a news release.

In the incident report, a police officer stated he saw two men wearing hoodies "grabbing and pushing Cam Newton."
"Neither Mr. Newton or any of the other involved persons who remained on scene indicated that they required medical attention or wished to pursue criminal charges," police said.
Newton is currently a free agent in the NFL, but has played for the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots.
