Chamblee Boys & Girls Club exec appointed to Leadership DeKalb

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta strives to promote positive character and leadership to our kids. And it feels good to see our very own Club staff being recognized for modeling these values in the communities they serve.

We're so proud of Club staff like LaSonya Hendrix for leading the way! The Chamblee Club executive director was recently appointed to the Leadership DeKalb program!

Each spring, a new Leadership DeKalb class is nominated and selected to participate in the 10-month program that focuses on learning about the issues facing the region and discovering the impact they can have as well-informed leaders. Class members learn about history, diversity, government, justice, arts and culture, education, health and economic development in the DeKalb County.

LaSonya said she is looking forward to sharing her takeaways to empower her Club members and staff.

"When I succeed, that success is a win for the entire Club. Leadership doesn't involve me. It involves everyone at my Club."
