The statement said Parsons suffered a brain injury, a herniated disc and a torn labrum in the crash.
Parsons, 31, has struggled with chronic knee injuries since signing a four-year, 94.8 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2016. The Hawks acquired Parsons in a trade from the Grizzlies in the summer of 2019.
Parsons has appeared in only five games this season.
The Hawks announced last week that Parsons had been involved in the crash and was put in concussion protocol.
