Children Cooked Alive By Mother: Atlanta Police

She was video chatting with the father of the two young boys when he saw them on the floor. He then called the police.

ATLANTA, GA — An Atlanta woman is being accused of killing her two youngest sons by putting them in an oven and turning it on, according to recent reports.

Lamora Williams, 24, of the Oakland City West End apartments in Atlanta, put her two sons in the oven sometime between midnight on Thursday and 11 p.m. on Friday, the arrest warrant alleges. Police said the boys had "received burn marks on their bodies at some point, possibly from the stove," the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Police are still investigating the incident. They removed the oven from the home to investigate and are awaiting the official results of an autopsy on the boys, Ke'Younte Penn, who was 2, and Ja'Karter Williams, who was 1.

Williams called Jameel Penn, the boys' father, on Friday night and had a video chat. When Penn saw his two sons on the floor, he acted. "After I seen what I seen, you know I called the police," AJC reported him as saying.

When police arrived at Williams' apartment, the two younger boys were dead. The 3-year-old son was unhurt, and their 6-year-old daughter wasn't there at the time of the alleged murder.

Williams had undiagnosed mental health issues, AJC reported, according to friends and members of her family, which were exacerbated by having four children and little help from Penn raising them.

AJC reported that Williams' friend Neesa Smith received a call from Williams prior to the call to Penn. Williams "couldn't do it anymore," Smith said, adding that Williams allegedly told her the boys were dead, according to AJC.

Williams is being held at Fulton County jail without bond. Tabitha Hollingsworth, Williams' sister, said she is at risk and should be put on suicide watch, according to AJC.

Williams faces two charges of murder and one charge of cruelty to children in the first degree, according to jail records.
