Love the light in that apartment photo? Check how it works for YOUR day. ☀️ Hey Atlanta, it’s Kenny! When you compare apartments, natural light deserves more than a quick glance at the listing. During a visit to the exact apartment, notice where the windows face and what is outside them. Think about where you would sleep, relax or work—not just where the photographer stood. Ask which blinds or shades are included and what window treatments the property permits. If you work at a screen, consider where glare might affect your setup. If you sleep during daylight hours, think through how you would darken the bedroom. A sunny visit is one snapshot, not a promise of the same light all day or every season. If the exact unit cannot be shown, ask what can be confirmed rather than assuming the model matches. The WOW is finding an apartment that fits your routine as well as your budget. Want help narrowing your Atlanta options? ☀️ Atlanta renters: Does that bright apartment fit your day?

The apartment looks great. Who do you contact when something needs fixing? 🔧 Hey Atlanta, it’s Kenny! A useful apartment comparison includes what happens after move-in—not just what catches your eye on a tour. Ask each property:• How do residents submit and track a routine maintenance request?• What is the after-hours process, and which issues does the property treat as emergencies?• How are entry arrangements and updates communicated?• Where can you read the current maintenance instructions before move-in? Save the answers beside your shortlist. A clear process is useful information, but it is not a promise of a particular repair time. Want help comparing Atlanta apartment options beyond the photos? Send me your move window, bedroom count, budget and biggest must-have. I’ll help you focus on the details that matter to your everyday life. Your next apartment should work for your workday, too. 💻🔑 If video calls, remote work or streaming are part of your routine, add internet setup to your Atlanta apartment comparison before you choose a place. Ask about the exact apartment, not just the building's advertised amenities:• Which internet providers can serve this unit?• Is an internet package required, optional or included, and where are the charges listed?• Who handles activation, what equipment is needed and when could service begin?• Where is the connection point, and would that work with your planned desk location?• If there is a shared workspace, what are its access hours, reservation rules and call policies? Confirm service options with the provider and ask the property about building-specific setup requirements. A Wi-Fi symbol in a listing or a quick test in the leasing office does not establish the service you'll have inside your own apartment. I'm Kenny Boykin with The Nav Agency. Love the apartment photos? Now picture your own sofa, bed and work desk in the space. 🔑 When comparing Atlanta apartments, usable room shape matters as much as the square-footage number. A beautiful room is more useful when your everyday furniture fits without blocking how you move through it. Before choosing your next place:• Measure the furniture you plan to bring, including depth, not just width.• Ask for room dimensions for the exact apartment, and verify important measurements during a visit when possible.• Check door swings, closet access and walking space around your furniture.• Look at where windows, outlets and fixed features affect your setup.• Ask about the delivery route, including doorways, stairs and elevators, before ordering something large. If you can only tour a model, ask which layout details differ from the actual apartment. A listing photo or approximate floor plan alone is not a furniture-fit guarantee. The curtain is about to rise on a first-of-its-kind musical event at Lanier Islands Resort. From November 13 to 15, music lovers and more than 20 celebrated songwriters will gather at the lakeside destination for three days of songs, scenery, and storytelling. Spread across eight venues, the Songwriters at the Lake Music Festival will offer a range of experiences, from intimate and interactive to spectacular and show-stopping. All-access package tickets remain for the three-day event at $129 per guest – granting admission to every show all weekend long. Organizers have also opened tickets to the public for two headliner events, hosted at Peachtree Pointe Amphitheater. Friday night’s show will feature the Drew Parker Band, with an appearance from Joanna Cotten of the Eric Church Band, for $49 per person. Saturday night’s headliner event will showcase the talents of Chuck Leavell, famed keyboardist for The Allman Brothers and The Rolling Stones, along with a gifted group of friends, including Randall Bramblett, Jimmy Hall, Greg Barnhill, and others, for $69 per person.
“You’d be hard-pressed to find another songwriter festival with as many A-list songwriters as we have assembled,” said Jody Jackson, Executive Director of Songwriters ATL – the event's producer. “Saturday’s headliner event will feature several former members of The Allman Brothers Band, as well as rock royalty – the band leader of The Rolling Stones – Chuck Leavell. We’re excited to kick things off with a Friday night concert featuring Georgia musician Drew Parker, who wrote the Grammy-nominated ‘Doin’ This’ and CMA-nominated ‘Forever After All’ for Luke Combs. Drew recently released his own single, ‘Blame Jesus,’ featuring Steven Curtis Chapman, and he regularly collaborates with the likes of Zac Brown Band, HARDY, and Blake Shelton. After making numerous Grand Ole Opry appearances, we’re honored to welcome him to the Songwriters at the Lake stage. We’re hoping for great fall weather that weekend, but – just in case – Lanier Islands Resort has a wealth of Plan B indoor venues, so we can pivot easily and still provide a top-notch experience for all involved – musicians and attendees alike.”
Some highlights from the Songwriters at the Lake Music Festival include:
Friday, November 13: Seven shows on various stages throughout the day, including the Drew Parker Band headliner concert at 6 p.m. at Peachtree Pointe Amphitheater. $49 wristband grants the wearer access to all Friday shows.
Saturday, November 14: Nine shows on various stages throughout the day, including the Chuck Leavell & Friends headliner concert at 6 p.m. at Peachtree Pointe Amphitheater. $69 wristband grants the wearer access to all Saturday shows.
Sunday, November 15: Exclusive to All-Access Package ticket holders, the grand finale of the festival will showcase three shows with a Gospel sound – at 10 a.m. on the Legacy Pointe Lawn, 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel on Lanier, and 12:30-2:30 p.m. at Peachtree Pointe Amphitheater with multiple artists bidding a fond musical farewell until next year’s show.
“If you love good music, great stories, and beautiful views, this is the music festival for you,” said Matthew Bowling, President of Lanier Islands Resort. “While many of the musicians in the lineup are incredible talents in their own right, you may not recognize all of their names – but you will recognize many of the songs they’ve written on behalf of some of rock and country music’s greatest recording artists. Songs like Garth Brooks’ award-winning ‘The Dance,’ Luke Bryan’s ‘Most People Are Good,’ Kenny Chesney’s ‘She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,’ John Michael Montgomery’s ‘I Swear,’ and so many more. As a rapidly growing genre of music festivals, songwriter events offer an opportunity to learn the stories behind the songs we all know and love. It’s right in line with the unique and memorable experiences we strive to provide for our guests year-round.”
Guests can purchase the All-Shows Pass to the three-day festival or wristbands for the Drew Parker Band and Chuck Leavell & Friends concerts at https://songwritersatl.com/tickets/. A portion of ticket sales proceeds will benefit Georgia Mountain Food Bank, Jarrard Burch Songwriter Foundation, and Amped Kids Music Foundation. Well-known in the homebuilding industry for its philanthropic efforts nationwide, David Weekley Homes kicks off its annual “Giving Thanks, Giving Back” Thanksgiving Drive in Atlanta on Friday, October 23. Through Friday, November 13, 2026, the award-winning builder will collect non-perishable food donations at its model homes throughout Metro Atlanta. The event culminates on November 13 with the collection of frozen turkeys at its Atlanta Division headquarters. This year, the donations will benefit the nonprofit Status: Home, helping ensure its clients enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Since its launch in 1988, Status: Home has become Atlanta’s oldest and largest provider of permanent housing for low-income and homeless individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS.

“Our annual Thanksgiving Drive is one of the purest examples of David Weekley Homes’ CARE Program in action,” said Atlanta Division President Adam Cornett. “The C stands for ‘Committed to Building Community Character,’ the A for ‘Active in our Community,’ the R for ‘Responsible to our Community,’ and the E for ‘Enhancing our Community.’ By calling on our network of Team Members, Homeowners, Homebuyers, and community partners to join us in this effort, we’re endeavoring to make a positive impact in the communities where we live and work during a time of year when it matters most. Last year, we collected 4,992 non-perishable food items and 298 frozen turkeys to benefit the individuals and families served by the Clayton County Community Services Authority. We can’t wait to see what we can do this year to benefit our friends at Status: Home.”

Items requested during the first leg of the drive include:

Hey Atlanta, it's Kenny!
I help Atlanta renters narrow down apartments by what matters to them: total monthly cost, layout, commute and must-haves.
Before you tour, compare the base rent, any written concession, required fees and move-in costs. Then look at what you're getting for the price.
Want help building your shortlist? Email kenny.boykin@thenavagency.com or call 404-798-9662 with your move window, bedroom count, target monthly housing costs and top three must-haves.
No application or financial documents are needed to ask for help. Pricing, availability and lease terms must be confirmed with each property.

Frameless Shower Doors in Atlanta Start With a Field Measure, Not a Catalog

Plenty of Atlanta houses have a bathroom that gets judged, and if yours does, this one is for you. It is usually the guest bath at the end of the hall, the one visitors will see between now and New Year's, usually with a sliding track that has been collecting grime since whenever somebody last cared. Here is the thing people get wrong about frameless shower doors in Atlanta: the glass is the easy part. The job starts with somebody in the room holding a level, because walls in older Decatur bungalows are rarely square and even a newer Perimeter townhome can be off by just enough to matter. Panels are tempered safety glass, cut to the opening that exists and not the one on the plan. Hardware in brushed nickel, matte black, or polished chrome, whichever matches the fixtures already sitting on the vanity. That is why MG Glass measures before anything is cut. It is the difference between an enclosure that looks built in and one that looks bolted on.

Custom Mirrors and Specialty Glass: The Vanity Wall Nobody Thinks About Until It Is Too Late

A good enclosure makes the mirror across from it look tired. People figure that out about a week after the glass goes in.
A mirror cut to the vanity instead of pulled off a big box shelf will brighten a windowless powder room and stretch a narrow wall, and it quietly handles the fact that the room is small. Edges are the tell. Polished reads clean and modern. Beveled suits a house that leans traditional. Custom shapes when the wall has a quirk worth working around. Atlanta humidity is unkind to cheap mirror backing, which is why the material rating matters more here than it would somewhere dry, and it is why a bargain mirror starts clouding at the corners inside two seasons. Specialty and decorative glass comes out of the same fabrication, so the shower panel and the mirror can be cut to read as one piece of work. Anybody weighing options can get a straight answer out of MG Glass before ordering a thing.

Glass Partitions and the Small Atlanta Bathroom Problem

Then there is the floor plan, and no amount of tile fixes a floor plan. Plenty of guest baths around Decatur and Brookhaven carry the same awkward inheritance: a tub nobody uses, a half wall blocking the only window, a layout that made sense to somebody once. A glass partition solves it the way a stud wall cannot, separating the wet area from the vanity while daylight keeps moving across the full width of the room. Panels get set in channels tied into structure, not tacked to whatever happens to sit behind the tile. Clear where sightlines are the point, frosted where they are not. The same idea scales up to a home office or a basement gym when the renovation appetite grows, which it usually does. MG Glass fabricates each panel to the opening it is going into, so the fit is settled before anything shows up on site.

The hosting season list comes down to three things: the enclosure, the mirror, and the layout. Each one starts the same way, with a free on-site measurement and somebody holding a tape measure. MG Glass is a family-owned Atlanta shop backed by 26 years in the glass trade. The crew that measures is the crew that installs. English or Spanish, whichever is easier. Fully insured, with in-house installers. The schedule fills in the order people call, so getting the guest bath handled by MG Glass is easier now than the week company lands. Stunning lakeside views and a mouthwatering buffet come together for an unforgettable holiday gathering this Thanksgiving at Lanier Islands Resort. The Georgia lakeside destination invites guests to skip the cooking and the cleanup in favor of the opportunity to relax, indulge, and make the most of the season while enjoying an expertly prepared Thanksgiving feast. From traditional favorites like carved turkey and cornbread stuffing to decadent desserts, this bountiful holiday spread will have something to satisfy every craving. Boasting an imaginatively crafted menu by Director of Operations Nishant Chaudhary and Executive Chef Whitney Okula, the Thanksgiving Buffet will be served in the Grand Ballroom at Legacy Lodge on Thursday, November 26, between noon and 6 p.m.
“From our Legacy Lodge to our Legacy Golf Course, the word ‘legacy’ is seen throughout Lanier Islands, and that’s intentional,” said Matthew Bowling, President of Lanier Islands Resort. “As a member of the Williams Family, which has operated the Resort for three generations, I take great pride in the traditions we’ve helped create for Georgia families. Our Thanksgiving Buffet is an annual tradition for a growing number of families, including my own, and we are honored to be a part of that celebration.
