Cool Temps In Metro Atlanta Lower Than Normal: NWS

Forecasters told Patch that the high temperature Monday is about 15 degrees lower than usual for this time of the year.

ATLANTA, GA — Metro Atlanta residents woke up to a chilly morning Monday, with forecasters telling Patch the temperatures are "unseasonably cool" for this time of the year.

A cold front from the north pushed the strong cold air into the metro, causing a high of 58 degrees Monday and a low of 43 degrees Monday night, said Carmen Hernandez, meteorologist for the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office.

Hernandez said though the high temperature is about 15 degrees below normal, the weather should moderate in the next couple of days.

Rain is possible for Thursday night into Friday before a second cold front approaches from the northwest, dropping temperatures once more, she said.

Hernandez encourages residents to keep warm as the cool temperatures Monday foreshadow a chilly week ahead of possible warmer temperatures to come.
