Covenant House Georgia Hosts Record-Breaking Event

Covenant House Georgia, a shelter serving homeless, runaway and trafficked youth, hosted its seventh annual A Night of Broadway Stars.

ATLANTA (May 3, 2018) – Covenant House Georgia, a shelter serving homeless, runaway and trafficked youth, hosted its seventh annual A Night of Broadway Stars at the Buckhead Theatre on April 26.

A record-breaking 600 people attended this event where Broadway’s biggest stars from Phantom of the Opera, Wicked and other popular shows performed their songs on stage. In addition to the musical talent, Covenant House youth also shared their stories of resilience, hope and accomplishment. Some even performed songs along with the stars.

Last year’s event raised $645,000 which Covenant House used to serve 1,380 homeless and trafficked youth. This year’s fundraising goal of $700,000 was exceeded by 48 percent, totaling $1,038,000 through sponsorships, ticket sales and auction items.

Event Co-Chairs Jessica and Sandy Douglas and Bob Hope said, “In addition to the hard work of Covenant House’s amazing staff and volunteers, it’s a really special moment to be able to see the entire Atlanta corporate community rally behind the work of Covenant House to raise that much money for such a great cause!” Presenting sponsors Delta Air Lines and Envistacom were just two of the nearly 30 local Atlanta businesses that rallied around the organization and its mission.
