D.A.T.E. Charter Academy Announces Film Industry Pros Program

Dekalb Agriculture Technology and Environment, Inc. (D.A.T.E.) has announced the start of their Film Industry Pros Program, an exciting new opportunity which brings film industry professionals to the school on a monthly basis as part of an expansion of their CTAE Digital Media program.

Each professional is welcomed to the campus by a student-led tour of the school’s environmental projects before engaging in a 2-person panel in the recently added STEAM Annex building.

Guests or “Industry Pros” will include Directors, Producers, and even Actors, all of whom will give their first-hand account of the ideal attributes of a successful professional and what steps should be taken to achieve success within the industry. Each panel consists of a Q&A portion which allows students to engage directly with the professionals, and panels are filmed and produced by the Digital Media program students.

The most recent edition of the Film Industry Pros program featured commercial, film, and music video Director and Producer Caleb Seals, who is also the founder of HBUC Studios in Atlanta. Hosted by STEAM Teams Executive Director Jerone Dodd Jr., Mr. Seals was eager to share his story and reiterate the qualities of a successful Director. Additionally, he extended an invitation to D.A.T.E. students to visit HBUC Studios to get a firsthand look at the production pipeline environment.
