DASANI Brings New Sustainability Experimental Pilot To Atlanta
DASANI is encouraging Atlanta residents to recycle to help support their goal of collecting every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030.

ATLANTA, GA — DASANI is on a mission, one that improves the carbon footprint and makes saving the planet more interesting. The Atlanta-based company’s new sustainability efforts include a sustainability experiential activation pilot that launched right in Atlanta over the weekend at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
As Falcon fans prepared for the Thanksgiving 2019 game against the New Orleans Saints, brand ambassadors joined the tailgating festivities with a corner tent offering games, giveaways, a photo booth, but more importantly, education on how they can recycle. There was also a sneak peak into their new sustainability packaging.
“DASANI is excited to pilot our new sustainability experience in our own backyard,” said company director, Lauren King in an email statement. “We’ll partner with fans to integrate more sustainable behaviors into their tailgating experience while taking the opportunity to learn and improve our future footprint. At the DASANI tailgate, fans will help us reach our collections goals through a fun, interactive recycling experience that reminds us all that even small changes can have a big impact for our planet.”

The focus of the night was on the launch of DASANI’s sustainability experiential activation pilot, which aimed to educate fans with recycling best practices such as a friendly reminder to put to top back on. It was also a chance, however, to show people what the brand is already doing with its global commitment, “World Without Waste.” Last year Coca-Cola, the parent company, announced the goal to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can it sells globally by 2030. The innovations support this.
In August, DASANI previewed a new packaging line of recyclable, reusable and package-free options, anchored by the first-ever HybridBottle™ in the U.S. It’s created with a blend of up to 50% plant-based, renewable material (PlantBottle) and recycled PET (rPET). The 20-oz bottles will launch nationwide in mid-2020 and will include on-pack messaging educating people about HybridBottle technology and encouraging them to recycle.

In the Northeast, DASANI will introduce aluminum cans this fall and expand to other regions in 2020. Aluminum bottles will be on shelves in several cities in mid-2020.
Also, up to 100 DASANI PureFill water dispensers, using Coca-Cola Freestyle technology, will be available this fall. There’s already one at Georgia Tech. The brand says it will continue to lightweight its packaging to reduce the amount of virgin PET plastic sourced by the Coca-Cola system.
