Delta Air Lines Is Giving Employees 2 Months Of Extra Pay

Delta announced that it's giving its workers two months of extra pay. This year is the highest payout for the profit-sharing plan.

ATLANTA, GA — Delta Air Lines gave a generous thank you to its 90,000 employees after experiencing a successful year. The company announced it would pay them $1.6 billion in profit-sharing bonuses, reports CNN Business.

Every eligible employee will receive a check in February for 16.6 percent of their annual salary, which is the equivalent of an additional two months' pay. Those excluded include officers, directors and general managers. They will receive a performance-based bonus.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Delta has paid out more than $1 billion to its employees, according to a spokesperson. 2019 is the highest payout year. The profit-sharing plan started in 2010 after the company merged with Northwest.
