Delta Cancels 130 Flights Sunday After Week Of Heavy Delays, Cancelations
The airline has canceled thousands of flights this week after severe weather pounded its hub city of Atlanta on Wednesday.

After a week of thousands of flight cancelations and delays pinned on severe weather that pounded the Atlanta area on Wednesday, Delta says its operations are stabilizing, however there are still 130 flights that have been cancelled on Sunday and its possible that there may be more, an airline spokesman said.
Delta said the reason for the delays and cancelations on Sunday is to do with the availability of flight crews.
"Unfortunately, availability of flight crews to operate within federally mandated crew rest and duty day guidelines following last week’s disruption are still prompting some additional cancellations and delays," a spokesman said in a statement.

On Saturday, the airline said it had canceled 275 flights. Those cancelations came after about 3,000 flights had already been canceled nationwide this week, leaving passengers desperate to get to their destinations frustrated and tired.
The airline's travel waiver has been extended into the weekend so that customers can rebook their flights without the change fee. According to Delta, about 60 percent of Delta's 1,250 aircraft fleet cycles through Atlanta on any given day, presumably accounting for the severity of delays and cancelations. In a note to passengers Saturday, Delta explained that heavy spring break travel meant there were very limited options for rebooking flights.

"We know this is extremely frustrating for our customers and we apologize for that," Delta said in a statement Sunday.
