Delta Passenger Suffers Diarrhea, Delays Atlanta Flight To Barcelona

The Delta Air Lines flight was delayed by several hours after a person suffered diarrhea on the plane Friday, media reports say.

ATLANTA, GA — A Delta Air Lines flight heading to Barcelona from Atlanta recently made a U-turn and returned to Atlanta after a passenger suffered diarrhea "all throughout the airplane," according to media reports.

The usual eight- to nine-hour flight ended six hours earlier Friday due to the incident, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.

There were 336 people onboard the Delta flight, USA Today reported. They eventually made it to Barcelona, eight hours and six minutes late.

A flight crew member is heard in an online snippet deeming the incident a biohazard. Delta sent the media outlets the following statement:

"Delta flight 194 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue. Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."
