Deputy Sheriff Stabbed Multiple Times At Fulton County Jail: Reports
He was processing a detainee in custody for misdemeanor terroristic threats, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
FULTON COUNTY, GA — A deputy sheriff was stabbed multiple times by a detainee at the Fulton County Jail on Monday morning, according to published reports.
Sheriff Patrick "Pat" Labat told Fox 5 Atlanta that the detainee was brought to the facility by Atlanta police late Sunday night after being charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats. The deputy was attacked while processing the detainee at about 7:30 a.m., the outlet reported.
How the detainee had a weapon when he arrived at the jail is under investigation, according to the report.

Labat told Fox 5 that the deputy is in stable condition and it is not believed that he will need surgery. He told WSB-TV 2 that the deputy is in “good spirits” after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
The identities of the deputy or detainee have not been released by investigators, according to Fox 5.
