Dr. Narendra Nagareddy is also facing 59 counts of issuing unauthorized pain prescriptions.

JONESBORO, GA -- A Clayton County psychiatrist was indicted on Wednesday on three murder charges and almost 60 counts of issuing unauthorized prescriptions to his patients.

Dr. Narendra Nagareddy was arrested in January after 36 of his patients died. Prosecutors claim 12 of those were victims of prescription drug overdose, according to the New York Daily News, and that Nagareddy -- dubbed Dr. Death -- should not have been prescribing painkillers to his patients.

Nagareddy's office was raided shortly after his arrest by federal agents.
