The episode will air on Thursday, July 28.

"The First 48," a popular A&E true-crime series, will air an episode on Thursday, July 28, about an unsolved double Atlanta homicide that happened on Oct. 15, 2014.

The case involves the murders of Derrick McGinty, 37, and Michael Edwards, 30, who, reports 11 Alive, were shot and killed around 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the Arbors of East Atlanta apartment complex on Memorial Drive. McGinty was from Decatur, and Edwards was an Atlanta resident.

A third man, John Kinlow, was shot in the leg, according to the AJC.

After canvassing the area and looking for witnesses, all police could come up with is that some sort of argument precipitated the shooting.

Crime Stoppers Atlanta offered a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the killer(s).

Edwards left behind three children, according to Fox 5, while McGinty was the father of six.

The families of both victims hope the show will generate some new leads in the case."You're used to having certain ones there, him, his love, his spirit, and it's just awful," said Veronica Edwards.

McGinty's mother, Catherine Collins, said, “There's somebody out there that knows something, but they just aren't telling.”
