FBI Atlanta: Help Us Find This Bank Robber

The robber has hit six banks in a two-month period, five of them successful.

ATLANTA, GA — The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed five banks in the span of two months in the Atlanta area. The robberies happened in Riverdale, Fayetteville, Lovejoy and Union City, the latest of which happened Monday, Oct. 23 in Union City.

The robber, pictured above, is described as a black male, medium to stocky build, mid 30’s in age, often wearing shorts, sunglasses, and a black wave cap. David LeValley, the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Atlanta Field Office, is asking for help.

  • Aug. 8, approximately 12:30 p.m. - Wells Fargo Bank in Lovejoy
  • Aug. 9, approximately 2:30 p.m. - SunTrust Bank in Fayetteville
  • Sept. 18, approximately 11 a.m. - JP Morgan Chase Bank in Riverdale
  • Sept. 28, approximately 11:30 a.m. - SunTrust Bank in Riverdale
  • Oct. 18, approximately 2:15 p.m. - Bank of American in Fayetteville (attempted)
  • Oct. 23, approximately 11:30 a.m. - JP Morgan Chase Bank in Union City

The FBI offered the following description of the Aug. 8 robbery: On August 8, 2017, at approximately 12:29 pm, a lone black male entered the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 11235 Tara Boulevard, Lovejoy, Georgia, and announced a robbery by presenting the teller with a demand note. The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money and departed the bank without further incident.

On the Monday, Oct. 23 robbery, the suspect was accompanied by an unknown black woman that stood with him at the teller's desk.
