FBI Seeking Comic-Book Fan Bank Robber
The suspect has worn a t-shirt with the logo for comics crime-fighter "The Punisher" on several occasions, the FBI says.

ATLANTA, GA — The FBI is looking for a bank robber with an apparent affinity for comic books — and, perhaps, an underdeveloped sense of irony.
Federal authorities are calling the armed man who has robbed six metro-Atlanta banks "The Punisher," because of the logo on a t-shirt he has been recorded wearing on more than one occasion.
The Punisher is a Marvel Comics character who violently targets all manner of criminals, including, on occasion, bank robbers.

The robber was wearing the comic-book shirt on Dec. 22, when, at about 5 p.m., he robbed the Sun Trust Bank at 993 Johnson Ferry Rd. in Sandy Springs, according to the FBI. After pretending to fill out a deposit slip, he confronted a teller and handed over a note demanding money, the FBI said.
He put the money in a small, black zippered bag and was wearing a wrap around the wrist on his right hand, according to authorities.

The FBI believes the same man is responsible for the following bank robberies:
- Sept. 6, Regions Bank, 2419 Cheshire Bridge Rd., Atlanta
- Sept. 22, Regions Bank, 6637 Roswell Rd., Atlanta
- Oct. 16, Regions Bank, 6503 North Point Pkwy., Alpharetta
- Dec. 5, 11:45 a.m. Bank of America, 8755 Roswell Rd., Sandy Springs
- Dec. 7, 1:28 p.m. Regions Bank, 2486 Roswell Rd., Marietta
And Punisher, now the subject of a Netflix series starring Jon Bernthal, may not be the only comic book the robber favors. According to the FBI, at the robberies in Marietta and Sandy Springs, the man also wore a cap from "The Walking Dead" featuring the words, "Beware, I Bite."
Now a popular AMC series, "The Walking Dead" got its start in 2003 as a comic by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-to-late 30s. He is bald with a medium build and some facial hair and has been seen wearing a large, oversized black watch on his left wrist and carrying a small, zippered bag.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at (404)
