First Of Its Kind Ground Beef Debuts In Metro Atlanta Grocers

ATLANTA -- For the first time, metro Atlanta consumers can buy a package of ground beef at the grocery store that contains meat from just one cow. Nurture Ranch 1-Steer ground beef comes from a single cow, a method the company says is proven in independent lab tests to be 100% cleaner than industry standards.

Mass processing—mixing together cow parts from different animals—multiplies the potential for bacteria in meat. Each package of Nurture Ranch is traceable back to the original source, with a unique code that consumers can enter online to see the entire nurturing history, from birth to harvest, including a satellite image of the location where it was raised. Nurture Ranch 1-Steer beef was previously only available direct from cattle ranchers. It debuts in metro Atlanta grocery stores, including Publix locations in Fulton, DeKalb and Cobb counties, this month.

Previously, ground beef processed from a single steer could only be purchased directly from select cattle ranchers.
