Fulton Co. Election Votes To Be Recounted Due To Ballot Issues: Report

A media report says the recount is being held Monday to validate the accuracy of Tuesday's municipal election results.

ATLANTA — All votes in Tuesday's Fulton County's 2023 municipal election must be recounted due to issues with ballots and uploading voter data, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Friday.

Voters in East Point and Atlanta noted they had been given incorrect ballots due to redistricting while East Point and South Fulton precincts reported issues with uploading voter information, the AJC reported.

“The recount will be held to confirm the accuracy of the election results before election certification,” reads a county notice, as shared by the AJC.

Fulton's votes are scheduled to be certified Tuesday, the outlet reported. The recount will take place at 1 p.m. Monday in Union City.
