GEORGIA — Cheers, honks and the "Electric Slide" boomed through downtown Atlanta Saturday afternoon after Democrat Joe Biden was declared president-elect. President Donald Trump's campaign said court challenges will proceed Monday, and Republican leaders in Georgia, including Gov. Brian Kemp, have been silent so far on the projected Biden win.

Biden will become the 46th U.S. president after unofficial election results in Pennsylvania, with 20 electoral votes, put him over/at the 270 electoral votes required to win the presidency, The Associated Press and other news organizations have projected.

Pennsylvania's vote tally flipped to favor Biden on Friday morning as numerous mail-in votes were counted in the historically Democratic-leaning Philadelphia area. Pennsylvania began counting mail-in ballots after those cast on Election Day were tallied. The Election Day vote favored Trump.

Biden has increased his lead over Trump overnight in Georgia. As of Saturday morning, Biden has roughly 7,200 more votes in the Peach State.

Now, his supporters are taking to the streets to show their support in the form of honking, cheering and dancing.

Former President Jimmy Carter issued a statement Saturday after the election was called.

Former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, who many political activists and pundits credited for sparking voter registration efforts that brought disenfranchised residents to the polls, spoke about the results.

Not all celebrated on Saturday afternoon. Several rallies and protests were held throughout metro Atlanta in favor of President Trump.
