Georgia Aquarium Evacuated, Flooded Due To Stormwater: Report

A media report says water from severe storms had moved into the aquarium Thursday.

ATLANTA, GA — Flooding caused by storms prompted an evacuation of the Georgia Aquarium Thursday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The outlet reported water from severe storms had moved into the aquarium, closing the Downtown Atlanta business the remainder of the day.

Atlanta News First reported flooding had also occurred through other parts of metro Atlanta, including near Clark Atlanta University.

The TV outlet reported two people were stranded on top of a car after it stalled due to flooding near Peters and Northside Drive.

At 4:15 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service's Peachtree City office predicted a chance for more storms Thursday night and Friday.
