Georgia Olympic Swimmer Barred From Leaving Rio
Gunner Bentz and another teammate were removed from a plane Thursday as investigations continue into a reported robbery over the weekend.
Georgia swimmer Gunnar Bentz and a teammate were removed from a plane on Thursday as they were leaving the Rio Olympics.
Bentz and Jack Conger were taken off the plane by local authorities, according to Fox News, who continue to look into claims from that the pair, along with swimmers Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen, were robbed early Sunday morning.
The four swimmer said they left France House early Sunday morning in a taxi headed for the Olympic Village when the cab was stopped by individuals posing as armed police officers, USOC spokesperson Patrick Sandusky said in a statement. The individuals demanded the athletes' money and personal belongings.

But since the reported incident, police say they have found inconsistencies in the story, according to CNN. Bentz and Conger have yet to testify in the incident, and Lochte has revised his account of exactly what happened.
On Sunday, Lochte said the swimmers' taxi was pulled over and men flashed a police badge at the swimmers before forcing them to the ground. When Lochte refused, he said a man cocked a gun and pressed it against his head.

But on Wednesday, USA Today reported that Lochte is now saying the gun was pointed at his head, not against it.
Police are also questioning why the athletes phones and watches weren't stolen, popular items among Rio's thieves.
Brazilian Judge Keyla Blanc De Cnop noted that Lochte said a single robber approached the athletes, while Feigen reportedly said a number of robbers were involved but only one was armed.
