Georgia Weather Forecast: Heat Index Over 100 This Week
See just how hot it will get in metro Atlanta this week and when we're most likely to get showers and thunderstorms in the area.

ATLANTA, GA — You know it's summertime in Georgia when the National Weather Service starts announcing the heat index. And the index — which represents how hot it feels when you combine the temperature with humidity — says we're in for a couple of steamy days this week.
Monday could be particularly brutal. In a hazardous weather outlook, the NWS says the heat index could get all the way up to 105 degrees in parts of north and central Georgia on Monday afternoon. In metro Atlanta, the high temperature is expected to be around 93 on Monday, but it's going to feel like it's at least 99 degrees.
And, on Tuesday, the index will be up to 98, with a high temperature around 92.

There's a chance of showers and storms every day. And the chance for them to be severe rises around Wednesday, when a storm system is expected to move through north Georgia.
